Giving back to the Community  comes first at Prudential Singapore's 80th Anniversary Celebrations

"Giving back to the Community" was at the heart of Prudential Singapore's 80th Anniversary celebrations this year.

To support cancer research efforts in Singapore, monies raised from the Prudential 80th Anniversary Carnival ticket sales as well as from the Prudential Golf Charity event were donated to National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). At the Carnival held in July for Prudential Singapore staff, families and friends, visitors gathered to form a giant heart as a gesture of friendship and continued commitment to the community.

Then in September, over a hundred of Prudential Singapore's business partners and associates gathered at the Prudential Golf Charity event and raised over $250,000 for the NCC Research Fund.

In addition, the company sponsored two scholarships to Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University as part of the company's CSR efforts on promoting education especially for the future generations.

Promoting Financial Literacy

In 2010 Prudential initiated Know Your Numbers with Prudential, a Financial Literacy Program for children 7 - 12 years old.

Through interactive games, theatre and an exhibition, children learnt the basic and key financial concepts of Budgeting, Spending Wisely, and the importance of Savings, Earning, Protection and distinguishing between Needs and Wants.

In 2011 this program was extended to schools, and more children benefited from this program.
