Responsible investment

As a life insurer, asset owner and manager, we are long-term stewards of our customers’ assets. Prudential has pledged to become a net zero asset owner by 2050, as part of our membership in the UN-convened Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance.

Decarbonising our investment portfolio

To reduce the climate-related impacts of our investments, we are contributing to our Group-wide decarbonisation targets, and have surpassed our 2025 goal of a 25% reduction in Weighted Average Carbon Intensity (WACI) two years ahead of schedule.

Divestment from coal

We have successfully completed our divestment from all equities and fixed-income assets of companies that derive more than 30% of their revenue from coal.

Active engagement

We are engaging with the companies responsible for 65% of the emissions in our portfolio to discuss how to reduce their carbon footprint and promote sustainable business practices.
