Hey Isha! Tell us what do you do at Prudential.
I work with my ad agency partners to come up with engaging content that is a merger of our brand purpose with audience interests, for our blog and social media platforms. Because of the nature of my work I have to always know the pulse of the social media universe, to understand how people today are interacting with brands on social media channels. What do they like, what are they averse to?
What’s a typical work day like for you?
Check all our social media channels’ performance (geeky that way), check what people are saying about us (community management), how well people are engaging with our content. And then I move on to doing the more intensive tasks – writing new briefs, reviewing content calendars, articles, strategizing for upcoming campaigns with the full team.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
The ideation! Best part about social media and content marketing is that it gives you ample opportunities to be fun, crazy and get people together to make a difference. You learn so much about social behaviour and psychological triggers.
Tell us about one memorable experience in your time at Prudential so far.
It’s not a one-off experience but rather a string of “same stress, different campaign” experiences – the digital marketing team huddle. Every time a campaign is about to launch, we will all be huddled together ironing out all the details and just working at ten times the speed. It’s collaboration personified on another level and an absolute adrenaline rush you don’t stop getting no matter how well you’re prepared for it. I personally think it’s a good thing because it brings us closer together as team.
