What is PRUPersonal Accident Lite - PRUPal

PRUPal provides Personal Accident coverage against everyday mishaps, including coverage for dengue fever which has remained as a cause for concern in Singapore especially during the peak monsoon months.

1Dengue Fever” means diagnosis of dengue by a Registered Medical Practitioner confirmed by either a dengue antigen (NS1 Antigen) test or dengue serology test.

  • S$100 Hospital Income for every 24 hours of hospitalisation due to dengue fever, up to maximum of 5 days

What are the key features of the PRUPal?

This is a voluntary group personal accident plan with added benefit for dengue fever.
This plan covers Accidental Death & Accidental Dismemberment with a sum assured of S$15,000.

If you are diagnosed with dengue fever, you will receive a S$500 lump sum payout under the Get Well Benefit.

You will also be entitled to the Hospital Income payout of S$100 for every 24 hours of hospitalisation, due to dengue fever, up to a maximum of 5 days.

Who is eligible for the PRUPal?

Existing account holders of a Current/Cheque/ Savings Account with SCB who have completed a financial needs analysis are eligible for this promotion. You must also be a Singapore resident between the ages 18 to 64 years old (as at last birthday) with a valid NRIC/FIN. Each eligible customer can only apply one (1) PRUPal policy. This promotion is only applicable to the first 500 eligible customers who sign up via the online form on this page before 31 December 2021.

Do I have to pay for this policy?

No payment is required. Prudential has waived the premium for PRUPal under this promotion.

When will my coverage commence and how long will I be covered under PRUPal?

You will be covered for a period of 12 months from the date of policy issuance (which should occur upon your sign up below). Please note that this policy is non-renewable.

If you sign up before 16th of any month, you will receive a confirmation email with the Certificate of Insurance from Prudential on the 25th of the same month.

For any sign-ups after 16th of any month, you will receive a confirmation email with the Certificate of Insurance from Prudential on the 10th of the next month.

What will the Accidental Death & Accidental Dismemberment benefit cover?

In the event of an accident where you suffer an injury and are dismembered but do not die within 30 days from the accident, Prudential will pay you a percentage of the sum assured in accordance with the Schedule of Indemnities.

If you die within 30 days from an accident, Prudential will pay only the Accidental Death Benefit as shown in the Schedule of Indemnities, up to a maximum sum assured of S$15,000.

What will the Dengue Fever Hospital Income Benefit cover?

If you are hospitalised due to dengue fever, Prudential will pay you a hospital income benefit of S$100 for every 24 hours of hospitalisation, up to a maximum of 5 days.

What will the Get Well Benefit cover?

Upon proof of diagnosis of dengue fever as confirmed by a registered general practitioner, Prudential will pay you a lump sum benefit of S$500 to you.

Is there any waiting period?

Yes. Prudential will not pay any claim, which was directly or indirectly caused by or is in any way attributed to dengue fever within the first 10 consecutive days from the cover start date. This includes any signs and symptoms of dengue fever suffered by you which started within the first 10 consecutive days from the cover start date.
