Prudential Awarded 2017 Asia Pacific New Community of the Year Award by Vision Critical

Singapore, 5 June 2017 – Prudential Singapore is honoured to be recognised as one of the leading customer-centric organisations in the region, following its win of the 2017 Asia Pacific New Community of the Year Award by Vision Critical1.

The Asia Pacific New Community of the Year Award, started in 2016, acknowledges companies that demonstrate the best use of customer intelligence to positively impact the business, within the first 12 months of launching a new online community platform.

In July 2016, the life insurer launched an online community, PRU for You, bringing close to 4,000 customers onto a single portal, where they can share ideas and provide direct feedback on Prudential’s products and services. In turn, the community offers Prudential greater insight into potential coverage gaps, allowing it to address customer concerns and needs in a shorter span of time.

Ms. Angela Hunter, Chief Customer Officer at Prudential Singapore, said the company’s commitment to connect constantly with the needs of its customers is a key driver of its digital innovation and investments.

“The PRU for You online community has completely transformed the way in which we engage with and collect customer feedback. By harnessing the power of technology, we have been able to integrate community insights directly into our product development process, allowing us to create products and solutions that best meet the needs of our customers, improving their experience with us.”

Mr. Peter Harris, EVP and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Vision Critical, said: “Prudential Singapore’s use of customer intelligence to drive new product innovations and guide decision-making is among the best I have seen across businesses in Asia Pacific – a truly customer-led brand that is turning customer insight into actionable business results.

”With the establishment of PRU for You, Prudential is now able to tap and to incorporate customer insights into its business decisions in just a few days, as compared to months previously. This has allowed the insurer to be better poised in launching innovative products and services tailored to the needs of its customers.

Putting customer insights into actions, Prudential recently developed several products based on feedback gathered through PRU for You. For instance, PRUman and PRUlady, launched in May 2017, were created on the back of customer demand for solutions that provide more comprehensive coverage for illnesses specific to each gender’s needs. PRUman is also the only standalone critical illness plan designed for men that is available in Singapore currently.

“Knowledge garnered through PRU for You has proven to be a significant tool in identifying coverage gaps, helping Prudential better tailor products to include features that our customers deem important from their perspectives,” said Ms Hunter.
