What is PRUPersonal Accident?
PRUPersonal Accident is a personal accident insurance plan that complements existing hospitalisation or medical insurance with 24-hour accident coverage worldwide. It offers different payouts and affordable premiums based on the coverage you need.
Policyholders have access to a 24-hour worldwide emergency helpline: (65) 6338-7185 in the event they are seriously injured in an accident while overseas.
Available as a supplementary benefit
PRUPersonal Accident is available as Accident Assist and can be added to your selected main plans2.
Covers expenses3 incurred during your hospitalisation.
Daily cash payout if you are hospitalised or admitted to an Intensive Care Unit.
Additional family support fund and reimbursement for transportation expenses.
Covers extra medical expenses as a result of burns, fractures and broken bones, as well as reimbursement for post-accident home modifications and mobility aids required due to accidents.
Double payout if accident sustained while in public conveyance.
1Infectious disease means any of the following diseases which is diagnosed by a medical practitioner during the period of insurance and is supported by acceptable clinical, radiological, histological and laboratory evidence:
Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD)
Avian influenza or ‘Bird Flu’ due to Influenza A viral strains H1N1, H5N1, H9N2, H7N7 or H7N9
Melioidosis or 'soil disease'
Nipah viral encephalitis
Japanese viral encephalitis
Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) or 'mad cow disease'
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)
Middle east respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV)

3Recovery Aid benefit covers expenses related to hospitalisation. It gives the insured a daily cash payout if the insured is hospitalised or admitted to an Intensive Care Unit and reimburses the cost of emergency medical evacuation and repatriation. The Recovery Aid benefit provides the following benefits:
